For new visitors:
I’m Isa, a 19-year-old from Bogotá, Colombia. Learning, solving problems, and creating new things are my biggest passions. I enjoy diving into new subjects and exploring them inside and out, so be prepared to occasionally encounter what may seem like random content. I love documenting new experiences that take me out of my comfort zone and help me grow. Come along with me on this adventure!
During May and June, apart from traveling and celebrating, I graduated from high school and found free time to play around with some cool projects.
Experimenting with stock price predictions
I set the goal of understanding the details of building AI, and chose to experiment with stock market prices.
I learned basic ML models, such as linear regression, and then moved up to sequential models with LSTM and deep layers. This process taught me about the logic of coding a practical algorithm.
My model uses previous closing stock prices to predict the next day’s price of a specific stock. Below is the progression of my model’s predictions compared to the actual data.
I tinkered with building a full-stack app to integrate my final model into a simple web app using Streamlit. Here is a small sample of the final product.
Thank you, high school
Graduation was a season of many celebrations. I was proud to receive:
The “Mo” Spikes Scholarship offered by my high school
A scholarship for my results in Colombia’s standardized tests (ICFES)
A special recognition from the Computer Science and Mathematics departments
I had a great time in school, and now it feels bittersweet for this chapter to come to an end. I am sad to leave behind my people and routines; scared to move so far away from home; satisfied by how school (academically and the community) shaped me; excited to have a blank canvas as I start university.
Other highlights

That’s all for now! I hope you enjoyed this little update, and I can’t wait to have you here for the next one.
What to expect by the end of August and September 🗓:
Moving into university
More updates on experimenting with AI code
Congrats on all of your achievements, Isabela!
